OUR PURSUIT

Turner LandArchitecture’s approach to the design process is one that points our thinking beyond sustainability as an end point, but in a direction to a more holistic, circular and even towards regeneration as the objective. We believe in an integrative view of our projects as a nested, whole system design process with the client and all of the team members recognizing the interaction, relationships, and potential of each building and natural component. The desired outcome throughout the design process is for our projects to be as environmentally compatible, functionally efficient, aesthetically individual while being as economically feasible as we can make them. Our goal is to encourage and generate as much innovative, collaborative, and creative input from the client, ourselves and consultants alike.

We offer professional services in landscape architecture, master planning, and site specific design that utilize the most current techniques and information based decision making to design unique spaces and places for each client.

Firm History

Turner LandArchitecture LLC is a small, professional design and planning firm composed of Landscape Architects, Landscape Architectural Interns, Licensed Landscape Irrigators and CADD draftsmen with supporting clerical staff that has over the last 40+ years developed a very strong experience base in a wide variety of Landscape Architectural, site design, and planning projects from small, intimate entry courtyards to multi acre retirement communities, parks, medical and college campuses, k-12 campuses and other public and private spaces. TLA has acquired the extensive construction knowledge and creative design ability that provides our clients with the highest aesthetics and the most pragmatic project solutions. We enjoy projects of all sizes, scales, complexity and budgets. We have worked individually and in concert with a number of diverse, local and nationally recognized Architectural and Engineering firms to offer our clients’ projects the highest level of design and technical expertise. TLA is experienced in collaborating with larger A/E firms when those resources are suited to the project, but still providing the regional context that is most desirable for a successful site design. At the macro level, we have the master planning skills to develop both visionary and practical “road maps” for our client’s future needs. Turner LandArchitecture is committed to enhancing your project by developing strong working relationships with the client, the contractors and the end users to develop a pragmatic design proposal that takes advantage of all of the creative and innovative opportunities available.

Our Project Workflow

Effective and responsible project delivery is always dependent upon high levels of Quality Assurance Quality Control, Cost Estimating and Project Scheduling. Our QAQC process is to internally, and with you the client, cross review all design assumptions, construction documentation and site observations at regular and appropriate intervals during a project’s progress to reduce any potential errors that may arise as a project moves forward. TLA uses regularly updated RE Means Inc. Construction Costs along with our own historical and current costing data to develop reasonably accurate Statements of Probable Landscape Cost of Construction. We utilize regular and as needed staff and project meetings during the design/construction process to keep you the client informed, to communicate work scheduling to all team members, coordinate our consultants’ expertise, and to update project budgeting as necessary to facilitate project progress.

Conflict Resolution

As with any human endeavor, conflicts sometimes do arise during the course of a project and our approach is to resolve those issues in a fair, objective, timely and positive way. Our first priority is to avoid problems before they have a chance to occur. However, when unanticipated issues do happen we strive to accomplish a positive outcome, by analyzing the potential problem at hand, working to understand how the problem occurred, and developing a solution(s) that preserves the design document intent while also preserving the quality of the work and the project outcome for all involved… There is no problem that can’t be resolved if given the right effort.

The desired outcome throughout the design process is for our projects to be as environmentally compatible, functionally efficient, aesthetically individual while being as economically feasible as we can make them. Our goal is to encourage and generate as much innovative, collaborative, and creative input from the client, ourselves and consultants alike.
